The year’s first snowfall always makes everyone love winter so much. We forget about how cold it is. We don’t care that it turns into slush. And we’re not thinking how it’s going to get in the way on our daily commute. As soon as there’s a clean white blanket of snow on the ground, all we can think of is SNOW DAY.
Since this was my first time experiencing snow in the city, I wanted to capture it all. Walking through the streets might have been slippery, but I decided to go to Central Park. It’s where everyone was heading with skates and sleds in their hands.
In the southern area of Central Park, tourists and citizens seemed mesmerized by the snow. I had my camera with me to capture every single moment. Everyone in the park seemed so happy to be making snow angels or building a snowman. It made me wish I had my own sled to join in on the fun.
Walking through Central Park made me appreciate the winter season even more. The walk might be longer because paths stay covered in snow and sure, you might slip a bit before saving yourself from the fall. But it’s worth it to enjoy the beauty of mother nature all in one beautiful park.
I am actually hoping for more snow to return to New York so I can take more winter photos in different areas of the city. For now, enjoy these photos of a wonderful winter day in Manhattan.
