City Style: How to Dress Your Best on a Sunny Afternoon

June 15, 2017

June’s a glorious time in the city because we finally start to experience summer again. Of course, as soon as the hot weather kicks, we’re already sick of the humidity. I’ve only had a small taste of New York summer over the past few weeks, and OH MY GAWD IT’S HUMID. There’s only one way to get through the dog days of summer though: you need to spend as much time near the water in your favorite summer outfit!

Summer Vibes

That’s exactly what I did over the past weekend when I was invited along to experience Hudson’s. I recently wrote a Gotham magazine article about them and other boat bars in NYC. How can you say no to spending your Sunday on a boat? Not only was it a gorgeous day, but I got to break out in a whole new outfit.

I wanted to pick out a nice, relaxed look for the boat ride. Going with a light color palette seemed like the best way to go nautical. Not to mention, it was the hottest day yet, and I wanted to feel comfortable. I decided to wear this patterned blue sky shirt from a recent purchase. By pairing it with a white skirt and brown sandals, it turned out to be the best casual, impressive summer outfit I’ve worn in a while.
